1939Designer and engineer Jean Bugatti was killed when out testing a car and was forced to swerve to avoid a drunken cyclist and hit a tree. Although only 30, he had already stamped his mark on the motor industry as part of the family company, designing landmark vehicles while in his early 20s and going on to build a series of leading racing cars. As an engineer he worked on revolutionary suspension systems.

Lucas Di Grassi was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Brazilian secured his first F1 drive with Virgin Racing in 2010 after finishing second in GP2 in 2007 and third in 2008 and 2009.
